Long-term study abroad / status report [December]

About Study / Class

This month has many last tests and reports so it was tough month. I was very busy because I had only one writing test but I had to make six reports and three presentations.Writing a report in English took twice as long as writing in Japanese, and Each report was big, so I had to write 10 pages. They make me tired. In the last classes, I gave presentations using PowerPoint. I was surprised at how high the quality of the presentations of the other students. They used photos and graphs well, and they told about the topics very smoothly, and there were a lot of things that I had to learn. It seems that overseas students often give presentations in most classes. Their presentations were easy to understand and interesting. I also made six presentations during this semester. I'll have more opportunities to give presentations in the future, so that was very good experiences for me. I wanted to be able to do better next time. To be honest, I had many times when I felt that the classes here were harder than when I was in Japan, but it was a very good experience because I was able to learn and grow a lot of things from my teachers and friends.

About University / Campus life

I went to Slovenia and Venice with my friends this month. I didn't know anything about Slovenia, but when I arrive there, I found that it was a very beautiful town and it was wonderful. We went to the mountain to see the emerald green river. We were able to get to the river though it was difficult to find the toilet and also it was away from the town to the river, we thought we were lost many times. The color of the river was the same as the color seen in the photograph, and We were excited by the beautiful nature. Unfortunately, the road to the waterfall was closed, but we enjoyed a lot. I wanted to go to there again with them. We also went to Lake Bled. This is a tourist spot in Slovenia, with a church in the middle of the pond, which was very holistic and beautiful. There were a lot of colorful buildings all over the town, and the locals were very kind. When I asked for directions, they answered politely, and when I entered shops, everyone tole to me friendly.
I wanted to visit Venice for a long time, so I was very happy to be able to go there.Everything in the town was beautiful, and the whole city was amazing. I enjoyed ‘authentic Italian food’ such as pasta, pizza and tiramisu's which are my favorite food.Especially, the pizza was very thin dough unlike Japanese pizza and was very delicious. The price was not higher than I had expected, so I was relieved. However, there were only one of the best tourist spots in the world, and there were many people. Since it was winter, I thought that it was not so crowded, but there were a tremendous number of tourists. In addition, people on the gondolas and in restaurants were able to speak simple words in many languages. On the menu you can see many languages such as Spanish and Russian German in addition to English and Italian.

About Holiday / Homestay or Dormitory / Off-Campus life

In the beginning of this month, I was busy with tests and assignments, so I kept studying homework and test with my flat mates at home. It took more time to do assignments than I had expected, and we did our homework together until 2 or 3 o'clock every night. After finished school, my friends went back to their countries, so I felt very lonely and sad. I had only a week to go back to Japan after the semester, but I hang out with my friends a lot. Each time they go back to their home, we cried together. All the friends I met here were important to me and I learned a lot of thigs from them. I've spent a lot of time with them, so I'm very sad to think that I won't be able to see them for a while. We promised that we are going to see each other in Budapest in five years, so I'll try do my best to make my life better. I want to see them very well already. I already miss them very much. It was good to meet them in Hungary.I think that the best parts of the exchange program is that I was able to meet very important and awesome friends. We spent a lot of time, told, got know each other, laughed, cried , got angry together and had great experiences here. We grew up together. Thanks to them, I had a lot of good memories and enjoyed myself very much for this four months. It was over, but was special and unforgettable. I really apricate them. I am looking forward to seeing them again.
